Privacy notice

This notice is for braiders who are on this map or want to be. It explains what we collect, what we show on your card, what we keep to ourselves, and how you can change or delete your card.

1. Who we are

The controller of your personal data is Dream braids s.r.o., Muskatova 702/2B, 902 01 Vinosady, Slovakia, company ID 53931114.

The fastest way to reach us is Instagram @oobraider.pro. You can also e-mail us at hello@braidersunited.com. We have not appointed a data protection officer, so your message goes to the people who run the map.

2. What we collect when you apply

From the application form:

  • your photo, your name, your city and country;
  • your street address (street and building number, not the apartment number);
  • your social media profile;
  • your phone number, if you give one;
  • the languages you speak with clients;
  • your e-mail address;
  • the language you want our e-mails in (Russian, Slovak or English);
  • whether you ticked the box for our newsletter with tips and offers on Olga Olikova's training.

From the photo you choose, we keep two copies: the part you placed in the circle and a smaller copy of the whole photo, at most 1,600 pixels on its longer side. Your browser makes both copies before it sends them. This removes the hidden details a photo file can carry, such as where and when it was taken and which phone took it. We never receive your original file.

When you submit the form, we also record the time, the version of the wording you agreed to, your IP address, your browser (its user agent) and the country your connection comes from. This is our record of your consent.

We also record how you reached the form: the website you came from (for example instagram.com or google.com, but never the full web address) and, if the link you followed included them, its campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign). We use this only to see where our applications come from.

We don't ask about your ethnic origin, your background or your health. Please don't write anything like that in the form.

You don't have to apply or give us any data. Without the required fields, we can't put you on the map. The fields marked as optional are up to you.

3. What your card shows and what stays with us

Your card on the public map shows your photo, your name, your street address (street and building number) with a pin at it, your city and country, your social media profile, your phone number if you gave one, the languages you speak with clients, the date your card was added and the date we checked it. When someone opens your card, they can see your whole photo, not only the part in the circle. Your pin is placed at your street address, or in the middle of your city if you didn't give one. If your card came from the Russian map, your pin is at the address you gave for the Russian map, or in the middle of your city if we could not find it. If your card came from Olga Olikova's old map on Google Maps, it shows only your name, city, country and Instagram profile, with your pin in the middle of your city, until you complete it yourself (section 12).

Your card also appears in a copy of the Russian version of this map on GitHub, so that people in Russia can open it (section 6).

We never publish your e-mail address, your consent record, your IP address, your browser details or your newsletter choice.

When we check your profile against the Listing rules, we keep a note of who checked it and when, and a copy of your public profile as it looked that day, together with any links you sent us for the check. We never publish these.

4. Cards that came from the Russian map

Some cards on this map came from the Russian Braiders United map at ru.braidersunited.com. Those braiders applied to be shown on that map through its application form on GetCourse. On 15 October 2026 we copied their photo, name, country, city and social media profile from the public Russian map to this map. We did this because of our legitimate interest in showing braiders who already chose to be listed publicly under Braiders United on a single international map. We show the street address they gave for the Russian map, without an apartment or office number, and place their pin there. If we could not find that address, the pin is in the middle of their city. If you'd like us to change the address or move your pin, just write to us and we'll do it. From 16 November 2026, like every other card here, these cards can be found by search engines and AI search assistants. There is also a copy of the Russian version of this map on GitHub, so that people in Russia can open it. Your card appears there too. You can object at any time to your card being shown on this map, and we will take it down.

If your card came from the Russian map and you want it changed or taken down, message us on Instagram @oobraider.pro or e-mail us at hello@braidersunited.com. We'll do it and let you know within 14 days at the latest.

5. Why we use your data, and on what legal basis

  • We show your card on the map because you agreed to it. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • We send you our newsletter, with tips and offers on Olga Olikova's training, only if you ticked that box. This includes a tip in the e-mail that tells you the result of your application. This is a separate consent. You can unsubscribe at any time, and that doesn't affect your card.
  • We e-mail you about your card (the confirmation, your link to edit it and the result of our check, with the reason if we don't approve it) because these are steps you asked us to take when you applied. If you didn't tick the newsletter box, these e-mails contain no offers.
  • If we don't approve your application, we keep it hidden for 60 days. We do this because of our legitimate interest in letting you fix your profile and ask for a new check without filling in the form again, and in seeing our earlier decision when we check it again.
  • If you ticked the newsletter box, we choose which tips to send you based on your language and, if we didn't approve your application, on the reason. We do this because of our legitimate interest in sending you tips that fit you. You can object at any time, and unsubscribing stops it.
  • We keep the record of the check because we have a legitimate interest in being able to show why a card was listed or taken down.
  • We keep your consent record, IP address and browser details because we have a legitimate interest in being able to show that a card was added with consent, and in stopping misuse of the form.
  • We record which website or campaign link brought you to the form because we have a legitimate interest in knowing where our applications come from.
  • We count visits to this site with Cloudflare Web Analytics because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how people find the map. We see only totals, as described in section 9.
  • If your card came from the Russian map, we show it because of our legitimate interest described in section 4. You can object at any time.
  • If we sent you an invitation to this map in October or November 2026, we did so because of our legitimate interest described in section 11. You can object at any time.
  • If your card came from Olga Olikova's old map on Google Maps, we show it because of our legitimate interest described in section 12. You can object at any time.
  • Your browser loads the map images from OpenStreetMap because of our legitimate interest in showing a working map.

6. Who else handles your data

  • Cloudflare hosts this site, the application form, the database where your card is stored and the storage where we keep your photo. It also counts visits to the site, as described in section 9.
  • Kit sends our e-mails. It keeps your e-mail address, your first name and labels showing the language you chose for our e-mails, that you came from Braiders United, the status of your application and, if we didn't approve it, the reason. If you ticked the box, it also keeps a label saying you get our newsletter. Only addresses with that label get our newsletter and offers. Some of the courses and the club we may tell you about are run by other companies, not by Dream braids. We don't give them your details.
  • Telegram: when you apply, when you change the social media profile on your card, or when you ask for a new check after we've hidden your card, Olga Olikova or a colleague from her team gets a message in Telegram with your name, full address, city, country, profile and phone number, so that she can check your application. If you change the profile on a card that's already on the map, the message also shows your previous profile. Telegram is based outside the European Union.
  • OpenStreetMap provides the map. Your browser loads the map images directly from OpenStreetMap, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address. To place your pin, we send OpenStreetMap's search service the street address, city and country you entered. We don't send your name or anything else with them.
  • GitHub, owned by Microsoft, hosts a copy of the Russian version of this map for visitors from Russia. Once an hour, the copy is refreshed with the cards from this map, using only what each card shows publicly. It never gets your e-mail address, your link to edit your card, your IP address or your consent record.

Cloudflare, Kit and GitHub are based in the United States. We use them under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreement with them. The OpenStreetMap Foundation is based in the United Kingdom, which the EU recognises as protecting personal data adequately. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Your card stays on the map until you delete it or we take it down under the Listing rules.
  • When you delete your card, we immediately delete your photo (both copies), name, street address, city, country, profile, phone number, languages, IP address, browser details, the details of how you reached the form and the copy of your profile from the check.
  • When you change your photo, we delete the previous copies right away.
  • When you change the social media profile on a card that's already on the map, we keep your previous profile until Olga Olikova or a colleague from her team has looked at the new one, and then we delete it. If we take your card down or you delete it before then, we delete your previous profile straight away.
  • For three years, we keep only your e-mail address, your consent record (the time, the version of the wording and the time you deleted your card) and the note of who checked your profile and when. Then we delete them. If a complaint or a legal claim is still open, we keep the part of the record that relates to it until it's closed.
  • In Kit, when your card is deleted, we remove the labels about your application (its status and the reason). If you didn't sign up for the newsletter and aren't subscribed to our e-mails for another reason, we also remove the language and Braiders United labels and unsubscribe your address. If you did, you stay subscribed with your language label until you unsubscribe.
  • If we don't approve your application, your card doesn't appear on the map. If we take down a card that's already on the map, we hide it straight away. In both cases, we e-mail you the reason. For 60 days, you can fix your profile and ask for a new check with your link, and we can approve or restore your card if we've made a mistake. After 60 days, we delete it in the same way as if you'd deleted it yourself. You can delete it sooner with your link.
  • The copy of the Russian version of this map on GitHub is refreshed every hour. When you delete your card or we hide it, it disappears from that copy within an hour too.
  • Search engines and other services may already have copied your card. Those copies are outside our control and can take longer to disappear. People who have already opened your card may also have a copy of your photo saved in their browser for a while.

8. Your link to edit your card

After you apply, we e-mail you a private link to edit or delete your card. We store only a coded fingerprint of the link, not the link itself, so even we can't recover it from our database. Please don't forward that e-mail: anyone with the link can change your card. If you lose it, ask for a new one on the application page. Your old link will then stop working.

9. No cookies, no advertising tracking

This site doesn't use cookies or advertising pixels. To count visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't set cookies, and it doesn't recognise you when you come back or when you visit other sites. We see only totals: how many people visited, which pages they opened, which country they came from and which website sent them here. We never see who you are. We do this because of our legitimate interest in knowing how people find the map.

When you open the map, our server looks up your approximate location from your internet connection. Cloudflare works it out from your IP address, and it is usually accurate only to the nearest town or city. We round it off so that it's accurate only to about 10 km, and send it back to your browser, which uses it to list the braiders closest to you first. We don't save this location or your IP address anywhere for this purpose. We do this because of our legitimate interest in showing you the most relevant braiders first. As with any processing based on our legitimate interest, you can object to it (see section 10).

If you tap or click "Braiders near me", your browser asks for permission to use your precise location. That location is used only in your browser, to centre the map and sort the list. It is never sent to us.

10. Your rights

You have the right to see the data we hold about you and get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict how we use it, to object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and to receive the data you gave us in a portable form. You can withdraw any consent at any time. Withdrawing it doesn't make what we did before unlawful. We don't make any decisions about you by automated means alone.

You can change or delete your card yourself at any time with the link in your e-mail. For anything else, message us on Instagram @oobraider.pro or e-mail us at hello@braidersunited.com. We answer within one month.

If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Urad na ochranu osobnych udajov Slovenskej republiky), Galvaniho Business Centrum II, Galvaniho 7/B, 821 04 Bratislava, Slovakia, dataprotection.gov.sk. You can also complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work.

11. If we sent you an invitation to this map

In October 2026 we sent one e-mail inviting braiders listed on Olga Olikova's old braider map on Google Maps to join this map. If you got it, this is how we used your data. It also means we won't move you over from the old map, so section 12 doesn't apply to you.

  • Where it came from and what we hold: you once sent your details to Olga on Instagram (@oobraider) or by e-mail to be added to the old map. From that list we hold the details you sent then: your name, Instagram profile, address, phone number and e-mail address. For the invitation we used only your e-mail address.
  • Why: to send you that one invitation. We won't use your address to write to you again.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering you a place on the map that replaces the old one (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Who else handles it: Kit sent the e-mail for us. Kit is based in the United States, and we use it under the safeguards described in section 6.
  • How long we keep it: within 48 hours of sending, we unsubscribe the addresses we added to Kit solely for this invitation. Within 30 days of sending, we delete those addresses from Kit and delete the list of contacts from the old map. If you have joined the map or were already getting our e-mails, we only remove the invitation label in Kit. If you applied to the map, the details you gave in your application are handled as described in sections 2 to 8.
  • Your right to object: you can object at any time by unsubscribing with the link in that e-mail or by replying to it. We'll remove your address straight away. Your other rights are in section 10.

If the e-mail couldn't be sent to you or didn't reach you, Olga may send you one Instagram message instead, from the @oobraider account. If you don't have Instagram, she'll send it to your Facebook page.

  • What we use: your Instagram profile, or your Facebook page, from the old map's list. We use your name on that list only to check that the profile is yours.
  • Why, and on what legal basis: the same as for the e-mail, to send you that one invitation, based on our legitimate interest.
  • Who else handles it: Instagram and Facebook are run by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. For this message Meta isn't our processor. It's a separate controller for its own platforms and handles your data under its own privacy policy.
  • How many messages: one. We won't send another, even if you don't reply.
  • Your right to object: just reply NO and we won't write to you again. Your other rights are in section 10.
  • How long we keep it: we delete the list of contacts from the old map and our record of who we messaged by 13 November 2026. If you applied to the map, the details you gave in your application are handled as described in sections 2 to 8.

12. Cards that came from Olga Olikova's old map

Some braiders once sent their details to Olga Olikova on Instagram (@oobraider) or by e-mail to be shown on her old braider map on Google Maps. In November 2026 we're moving some of them over to this map without an application from them. If you got a message from us about this, this is how we use your data.

  • Who we move over: only braiders whose Instagram is a public business or creator profile that was active, with recent posts, on the day we checked it in October 2026. We read these public profiles through Instagram's official interface. We don't move over anyone we sent an invitation to (section 11) or anyone who has told us they don't want to hear from us. We don't move over companies based in Russia or Belarus.
  • What your card shows: your name as it appeared on your Instagram profile on the day we checked it, your city and country, and a link to your Instagram profile. Your pin is in the middle of your city. Your card has no photo, no street address, no phone number and no e-mail address. We haven't copied any photos from the old map or from your Instagram.
  • How it's marked: until you complete it yourself, your card is marked "From Olga Olikova's old map" and shows no check date.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing, on one map, braiders who once asked to be on Olga Olikova's public braider map (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • We tell you first: before your card appears, we send you one message. It's an e-mail if we have your address, or, if we don't, one Instagram message from Olga's @oobraider account. Your card doesn't appear anywhere on this map, not even marked "Review pending", until at least 14 days after that message and not before 20 November 2026. From then on, like every other card here, it can be found by search engines and AI search assistants.
  • Your right to object: if you don't want to be on the map, reply NO or unsubscribe from the e-mail, and we won't publish anything. You can also object later, at any time. Reply to our message, or message us on Instagram @oobraider.pro or e-mail us at hello@braidersunited.com, and we'll take your card down within 14 days. Your other rights are described in section 10.
  • If you complete your card: when you add a photo or other details through the form, the card becomes your own application and the consent you give there applies from then on (sections 2 to 8). Your own card replaces the one we moved over, so you're on the map only once.
  • If you send us a photo in reply: if you reply to our message with a photo of your work, we add it to your card based on your consent. Your card is then no longer marked "From Olga Olikova's old map", and it shows the date we added the photo. You can ask us to remove the photo at any time.
  • Who else handles it: Kit sends the e-mail for us (section 6). Instagram is run by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, which isn't our processor for the Instagram message or for reading public profiles. It's a separate controller for its own platform.
  • What we keep and for how long: while your card is on the map, we keep your name, city, country, Instagram profile, the date and channel of our message, the date we checked your Instagram and the date of your most recent post at that time. We delete them together with your card. We don't keep copies of your posts or photos. Within 48 hours of sending the e-mail, we unsubscribe the addresses we added to Kit only for this message. We delete everything else from the old map's list, including street addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses, by 13 November 2026.
  • If you object: we delete your card and keep only a coded fingerprint of your Instagram username, not the username itself, so that nobody adds you again from the old map. We keep it for as long as the old map is publicly available, and for two years at most.

This notice is dated 29 October 2026 and goes with version apply-en-2026-10d of the application form.
